Scenario Based Learning
In scenario-based learning, learners are immersed in realistic situations that challenge them to apply essential knowledge and skills. For example, in a training module for a person applying for a job at a restaurant, the learner is tasked with demonstrating a basic understanding of hygiene practices crucial to the job. The scenario might present situations like properly handling food, washing hands, or ensuring cleanliness in the kitchen and dining area. As the learner progresses, they make decisions about how to handle various hygiene-related tasks, such as sanitizing surfaces or storing ingredients correctly. Each choice leads to different outcomes, with feedback provided to reinforce best practices. This hands-on approach helps learners build confidence in applying hygiene standards while preparing for real-world job responsibilities.
Here is an example of a scenario based learning course created form Home-Economics students of form 1.

Active Learning
Active learning is an engaging approach that encourages children to participate directly in their learning process through hands-on and interactive activities. Games like sorting and card-flipping are excellent examples of active learning, especially for primary school children. These activities allow students to explore concepts by categorizing items or flipping cards to match pairs, reveal answers, or test their memory. This method helps make learning fun and interactive, while also promoting critical thinking, problem-solving, and cognitive skills. By actively participating, children retain information better and develop a deeper understanding of the topics being taught.

My Courses
These courses were specifically designed for my classes and serve as a model for delivering interactive lessons, particularly in environments where resources may be limited. In this instance, the students have not yet had hands-on experience in the kitchen. Therefore, these lessons are intended to provide them with a foundational understanding of what it is like to work in a food lab setting.
